The practice of an architect, where architecture means to offer or render professional services in connection with the design and construction of a building, or group of buildings and the space within the site surrounding the buildings, that have as their principal purpose human occupancy or use.

A style and method of design and construction of buildings and other physical structures.

A wider definition may comprise all design activity, from the macro-level (urban design, landscape architecture) to the micro-level (construction details and furniture). Architecture is both the process and product of planning, designing and constructing form, space and ambience that reflect functional, technical, social, and aesthetic considerations. It requires the creative manipulation and coordination of material, technology, light and shadow. Architecture also encompasses the pragmatic aspects of realising buildings and structures, including scheduling, cost estimating and construction administration. As documentation produced by architects, typically drawings, plans and technical specifications, architecture defines the structure and/or behavior of a building or any other kind of system that is to be or has been constructed.

"Architecture is gesture" said Wittgenstein. Not every purposive movement of human body is a gesture.just as little as every functional building is architecture.

Buildings do not turn into architecture because they are big,or they are expensive but because they have some sort of cultural content-some sort of meaning.

Vaastu

Human Body is a conglomerate of five elements called the Panchtatva, i.e., Earth-Fire-Air-Water-Sky. These elements subsequently are related to eight directions. Vaastu relates Human Lifestyle to these directions.

Although Vaastu Shastra was the basis for all architecture in an era, it’s often disputed in present context. For those who are dubious to its importance, it doesn’t do any magic rather simply it puts the spaces in appropriate directions depending on their climatic needs and it affects human lifestyle forcing the desirable.

Green Buildings

Green building (also known as green construction or sustainable building) is the practice of creating structures and using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition. This practice expands and complements the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort.

Key Features like Sustainable site-development which use concepts like Soil Erosion control plan Preserving Existing trees & water bodies and Retaining natural topography.

Water Conservations and saving which Encourages use of water in a self-sustainable manner through reducing, recycling and reusing strategies using this concept, saves potable water to an extent of 30-50 %

Cocepts like Segregation of house hold waste,Rain water harvesting,Waste water treatment and water re-use.Adopting Energy Efficiency by Reducing energy-consumption through energy efficient lightings, air conditioning systems, motor pumps etc which saves energy upto 20-30 %.

Energy efficiency in Infrastructural Equipment and Construction waste reduction Material Selection Using green and eco-friendly materials.Using recylced and recyclable materials Providing good Indoor Enviornmental quality which insures Well being of occupants by proper day lighting and ventillation aspects. Creative and Innovative design process to ensure sustainable development.
